We’ve been off the radar and a bit slack with our mixes but here’s a nice treat to make up for it. To build up to our next party at the Soul Cellar we’ve been given permission by our next guest Red Rack’em and those solid Bristol lads, Futureboogie, to put out this slamming mix on our podcast.
To save us copy and pasting a blurb we suggest you visit these links for more information about our next guest: http://www.futureboogie.com/agency/red-rackem, http://www.redrackem.com, http://www.myspace.com/redrackem.
What we will say though is lad is one to keep a close eye on, his productions are getting more and more hype and as a DJ he is now in the ‘in-demand’ catagory following slots at nearly all major festivals this year.
Check out his mix then come down to the Soul Cellar, Southampton, on Friday 2nd October to see him do it in the flesh (that is to say in person, not naked. We hope).

For this month’s offering we thought we’d dig deep into the HELLO my name is… archives and we stumbled upon this mix from our very own Stu Clark, known more commonly as The Wolf. Originally put together for airing on the sadly no-longer-with-us Kiss Futureboogie radio show, it seemed it was destined to remain lost forever. But fate took a different turn and like a pheonix from the flames it has risen from depths.
Alongside his HELLO my name is… stuff, Stu has recently launched a new label alongside Basement Soul stalwart Matt Neale. The first release, a rework package of the disco smash Dancing In Outer Space by Atmosfear, and featuring works from The Revenge and Greymatter, was an absolute smash hitting the top ten on most download sites and the first vinyl pressing selling out in just days. The follow up is destined to be just as big, if not bigger; The Recession Beats EP is the first release from KRL and the title track is being billed as one of the tracks for this summer. Release is planned for this imminently. For more Wolf Music info head across to the Myspace page
This mix is The Wolf at his finest so we’d stongly reccommend you get on it!
(But we would say that, wouldn’t we!)

It’s taken a while but we’ve finally got hold of the latest HELLO my name is… podcast for your ears. Purpose B’s pulled out all the stops and put this mix together with the use of one arm following some hefty shoulder surgery - mainly because we’ve been bugging him for weeks. The good news is he’s pulled off a right treat, the bad news is we don’t know the long term damage to his mixing arm. Here’s some more info about the man:
The beat addiction began early for Purpose B (real name Matt Rudd). First inspired by early funk and golden era hip hop, Purps now joins the dots between dubstep, disco and drum and bass. Always striving to create a good-time dancefloor feeling, Purpose B has held a number of residencies in London (Mother Bar/Big Chill House), Bournemouth (60 Million Postcards/Consortium) and Southampton (Soul Cellar/Orange Rooms/Cricketers) and has played alongside everyone from Fabio to DJ Format, Scratch Perverts to DJ Spinna and Qbert to Ohmega Watts. Now back in Motherland Manchester to spread freedom vibes, rain or shine.
Check more stuff about the man like Purps here: http://www.myspace.com/purposeb.

Wow, what a party that was. Kelvin came along and treated the Soul Cellar to an amazing mix of music with a set that linked Hip Hop, Funk, Disco, House, Dubstep, Afrobeat….you get the idea. This was definitely one of our best nights to date and its great to see things gathering momentum as we head towards the summer of 2009.
For those that missed it (or those that were there and want to relive some memories) we got it recorded and here we have a fine 79 minute segment that you can download and burn at your leisure.
Thanks once again to Kelvin for a great night and to all those that made it down.

Ahead of our party on Friday we’ve managed to procure some music from the man himself. Kelvin kindly gave us access to his mixes vault and we chose to ressurect this 2007 mix he did for the Unabombers’ XFM show. Mixing up hip hop, jazz, afrobeat, house and more; and all squeezed in to 32 minutes of goodness, this mix is the perfect warm up for Friday.
